Through our joint effort with the Coconut Creek Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Coconut Creek’s crime and arrests through May 1.

Fire – Structure/Dumpster/Vehicle

Fire – Structure/Dumpster/Vehicle Etc on W Hillsboro Blvd was reported in the Publix parking lot on 04/25/2023. The victim reported his vehicle partially caught fire – possibly an electrical malfunction.

Fraud – Wire/Computer/Atm

A 44-year-old male was the victim of Fraud – Wire/Computer/Atm on Coconut Creek Parkway was reported on 04/25/2023. The total estimated loss was: $500.

Fraud – Other

A victim of Fraud – Other on Coconut Creek Parkway was reported on 04/25/2023. The total estimated loss was: $21,650 due to a fraudulent check. 

Simple Assault

A 42-year-old female was the victim of a Simple Assault on Coconut Creek Parkway was reported on 04/26/2023. An adult student told a teacher he would shoot and kill another adult student.

Theft – Auto Parts/Accessories

A 65-year-old female was the victim of Theft – Auto Parts/Accessories Catalytic Converters were reported stolen at Evergreen Lakes on 04/27/2023. The total estimated loss was: $1,600. 

A 29-year-old male was the victim of Theft – Auto Parts/Accessories on Dockside Drive in The Landings. A Catalytic converter was stolen and was reported on 04/28/2023. The total estimated loss was: $1,200. 

Robbery – Armed

A 40-year-old male was the victim of Robbery – Armed at Woodlake Villas was reported on 04/27/2023. 2 catalytic converters were taken via Armed Robbery. The total estimated loss was $750. 

Suspicious Incident

A suspicious Incident on Coconut Creek Blvd was reported on 04/27/2023. Broward College had a suspicious person on campus with a pocketknife.

Extortion/Blackmail

A 54-year-old female was the victim of Extortion/Blackmail. The female victim was being extorted over private photographs. This was reported on 04/29/2023. The total estimated loss was: $560. 

Vehicle Theft

A 27-year-old female was the victim of Vehicle Theft – Auto on W Atlantic Blvd at Banyan Bay. The Victim’s Honda Accord was reported stolen on 04/29/2023. 

Arrests

Valli, Anthony James, 60, was arrested on a Drive While License Susp Third Or Subsq Offense charge at 4600 W Atlantic Blvd on 04/25/2023.

Francis, Michael G., 59, was arrested on a charge of Driving While License Suspended/Cancelled/Revoked Third Subsq Offense at 4100 W Atlantic Blvd on 04/25/2023.

Smith, Johnathan Jnerol, 28, was arrested on a License Plates Etc / Posses Counterfeit charge at 4200 W Sample Road on 04/27/2023.

Sosa, Andres David, 34, was arrested on a charge of Dui 1st Offense at 4205 W Atlantic Blvd on 04/27/2023.

Chevelon, Kenlor, 40, was arrested on a Possess Receive Retain Stolen Credit/Debit Card charge at 4800 W Copans Road on 04/29/2023.

Benedetto, Brandon Edward, 32, was arrested on a Battery/Simple Touch Or Strike charge on 04/30/2023.
