Coconut Creek High School’s record-setting season ended on Friday in the Regional Final against St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
The Cougars fell 28-0 and finished the season with a record of 10-3. They previously beat Piper and West Boca Raton Community High School in the postseason. Coconut Creek fell behind 21-0, but Elijah Cannon recorded an interception right before halftime. The Cougars got it into the red zone before turning it over on downs before the Raiders added to the lead in the second half with their fourth touchdown.
This was also the final game for seniors Gerald Magnus, Cannon, Jamarie Hostzclaw, James Hayes, Damaine Wilson, Eirik Simmons, Travis Thompson, Martin Montero, Raymond Jackson, Semaj Wallace, James Douse, Jackson Norkunas, Christoper Allen, Javares Jones, Andre Poiter-Abreu, Djovamy Dominique, Hayjah Miller, Keyvonate Williams, Keon Hostclaw, Rohmel Grossman, Joshua Smith, Jayden Anglin, Isaiah Hope, Keon Daceus, Kael Daceus and Godson Sinelin. Coconut Creek will return a talented squad next year and look to make another long playoff run.
