Parkland Restaurant Permanently Closes Due to Pandemic

Restaurant restrictions due to COVID-19 have claimed their first victim in Parkland.

On Saturday, March 21, Brooklyn’s Best, located at 7679 North State Road 7 in Parkland announced they would be closing permanently due to coronavirus.

After just under a month in existence, the New York-style deli, had its share of issues and unexpected complications, before finally opening for business in February.

The launch of the new restaurant, where customers could get a great bagel or a famous Philly was put on hold after General Manager Cortney Kowalski was diagnosed with breast cancer. The new owners waited for her recovery to open its doors.

Now closing them for good, Brooklyn’s Best still wants to provide bagels (at a deep discount) to hungry residents curbside while they last. Kowalski hopes to give people a chance to enjoy them before they go to waste.

Two years after the former owner, Brooklyn Water Bagel, abruptly closed, plaza goers waited and wondered when the next restaurant would appear. Now, just a short month later, the corner spot in the Waterways Shoppes will sit empty again.

Brooklyn’s Best will be selling bagels for $11 for a dozen or $6 for a half dozen—cash only until they are gone.
