Families in Coconut Creek will have an opportunity to enjoy holiday festivities and quality time together.
The Women’s Club of Coconut Creek is hosting its annual Santa’s Brunch on Saturday, December 2 at the Coconut Creek North Recreation Center at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $15 for a child and $10 for an adult.
Families with children aged 3 to 8 are invited to a brunch that includes pizza, chips, and soda. The event will feature a visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, who will give each child a present and a goody bag.
Santa’s elves will also be present to assist in the arts and crafts activities. The party will include a DJ and a dance party for everyone to enjoy. In addition to that, there will be clowns and other entertainment to keep the kids happy.
“This is a way for the Women’s Club to give back to the community,” said Laura McDermott, president. “One of our missions is to engage with the youth of Coconut Creek. The money we raise from the event will go toward our scholarship program.”
Her daughter Jordan Matherick said, “I loved the clowns last year. I liked the party.”
Last year, the Women’s Club distributed $18,000 in scholarship money to young people in Coconut Creek for college, university, and vocational school.
Ira DeFreitas, the chair of Santa’s Brunch. “This is for the community. This is for younger children and we want to give back to the community,” she said.
Founded in 1970, The Women’s Club of Coconut Creek is the oldest civic organization in the city.
