Coconut Creek Police responded to various calls from December 16 to 22, 2025. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Incidents
Baker Act / Mental Health Calls:
Police responded to multiple Baker Act incidents involving adults and juveniles at residential locations, including Buttonwood Hammocks, SOS Children’s Village, Renfrew Center, and Wynmoor. Several individuals were transported for mental health evaluations. In one case, a 5-year-old and a 9-year-old were Baker Acted at SOS Children’s Village on separate days.
Elderly Abuse / Neglect:
An 83-year-old woman was reported as a victim of elderly abuse/neglect at a Coconut Creek residence. The case was referred for investigation.
Thefts:
A lunchbox was stolen from a breakroom at Coconut Creek Public Works ($30 loss).
Multiple bicycle thefts were reported throughout the city, including at Broward College Library, Wynmoor, and residential neighborhoods, with losses ranging from $100 to $1,000.
Two pieces of heavy construction equipment valued at $105,668 were stolen overnight from a construction site on W. Atlantic Boulevard.
Auto parts valued at $19,331 were stolen from Lincoln of Coconut Creek.
Several retail thefts were reported at Walmart and Burlington, with losses ranging from $169 to $418.
A ladder was stolen from a residential swale in the Lake Como area ($300 loss).
Theft from multiple 18-wheelers was reported at Elite Aluminum Corp. on Lyons Technology Parkway.
Vehicle Crimes:
A vehicle was reported stolen from Coco Parc.
Criminal mischief incidents involving slashed or damaged tires were reported at Riviera Palms and Bell on W. Hillsboro Boulevard.
Property damage was reported to the Victoria Isles gate and at locations along W. Hillsboro Boulevard.
Domestic Disturbances:
Police responded to numerous domestic disturbance calls throughout the week, including incidents at Wynmoor, Coco Parc, Windsor Apartments, and residences along Lyons Road. Most were verbal in nature, with no injuries reported.
Suspicious Incidents:
Several suspicious incidents were reported, including one at North Broward Prep involving a reported bomb threat. Other suspicious activity calls occurred at Hale Plaza and residential neighborhoods.
Traffic / DUI:
Multiple DUI arrests resulted from traffic stops and crashes, including a single-vehicle crash on W. Sample Road.
A traffic stop on Winston Park Boulevard resulted in a DUI arrest.
A bicycle was recovered following a traffic crash and secured for safekeeping.
Police Assists / Information:
Officers assisted other agencies with investigations involving juvenile welfare, child abuse cases, and traffic crashes. Police information and background investigations were also documented during the reporting period.
Arrests
Fredrick Maestre, 28, arrested on a felony capias violation of probation at Wynmoor Way and Lyons Road.
Damian Andres Morales, 21, arrested for felony battery (domestic strangulation) on W. Atlantic Boulevard.
Monica Lakisha Hyatt, 45, arrested for DUI (first offense) on Lyons Road.
Gerard Danyall Adams, 40, arrested for DUI alcohol or drugs (first offense) following a crash on W. Sample Road.
Jacob Elliot Yomtobian, 40, arrested for petit theft (second degree, first offense) at Walmart.
Ivan Oswaldo Castillo, 57, arrested on a charge of kidnapping (felony) in Coconut Creek.
Juwan Taitt, 27, arrested for battery (dating violence) on W. Atlantic Boulevard.
David Lee Colemiller, 29, arrested for DUI alcohol or drugs (first offense) on Winston Park Boulevard.
