The City of Coconut Creek invites residents and pickleball enthusiasts to light up their paddles at a one-of-a-kind Indoor Glow-in-the-Dark Pickleball Tournament.
Scheduled for Wednesday, January 8, the event promises a thrilling combination of sport and spectacle, with a glowing court and illuminated equipment transforming the Community Center gymnasium.
Participants must register as a team of two players, with no individual registrations allowed. Teams can be of any gender composition, and the tournament is recommended for intermediate to advanced players.
Games will be played to 11 points using a fixed doubles round-robin format, with a win requiring just a one-point lead. Following the round-robin phase, single-elimination rounds will determine the ultimate champions. Each team will compete in a minimum of four games.
The tournament will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Community Center gymnasium at 1100 Lyons Road. Participants are asked to arrive by 5:45 p.m. and must bring their own paddles.
The registration fee is $30 per team, with payment accepted by credit card only. Registration is open until January 7 or until all spots are filled, as the tournament is limited to seven teams. Walk-in registrations on the day of the event will not be accepted.
Interested teams can register online at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or in person at the Community Center or the Recreation Complex, located at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard. Players registering online must first create a WebTrac account, which can be set up with assistance from the Community Center staff by calling 954-545-6670.
