The MainStreet at Coconut Creek project is moving along, and city leaders are looking forward to the beginning of construction.
Mayor Jackie Railey is pleased with the current progress and said all permits have been filed. She is looking forward to the construction of the infrastructure and hopes work will begin soon.
“We are excited to bring Coconut Creek to another level. I am hoping the growth of MainStreet will add to the growth of small businesses in our community,” said Railey.
Development applications within MainStreet are nearing completion. The developer is considering several potential concepts for Block 10. Once a proposal is finalized, it will require staff review and city commission consideration, according to Liz Aguiar, Assistant Director, Resilient Design and Development.
A minor administrative amendment for Block 2, one of two commercial sites, has been submitted but not yet reviewed. With development applications for other blocks approved, the MainStreet development team can now move into the preliminary permit review stage, according to Aguiar.
Engineering and building permits are under review for site preparation, infrastructure installation, and the first residential project, a proposed 404-unit multi-family development on Block 3. The developer will schedule construction activity as soon as permitting progresses, according to Aguiar.
