Through our joint effort with the Coconut Creek Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Coconut Creek’s crime and arrests through January 22, 2024.
Vehicle Thefts
Vehicle Thefts increased slightly in 2023, from 128 in 2022 to 134 in 2023. Of those 134 stolen, 15% were left unlocked with a key fob. In an online statement, Coconut Creek Police is asking to reduce that number this year by getting those key fobs out of the car and locking the doors for the night.
Theft
Victims of Theft – From Motor Vehicle on Monarch Way in Paloma Lakes on 01/16/2024. The total estimated loss was $12,050. Two victims and two vehicles were reported.
Guitar Center was the victim of Theft – Retail/Shoplifting on Lyons Road on 01/17/2024. The total estimated loss was $4,969.
Guitar Center was the victim of Theft – Retail/Shoplifting on Lyons Road on 01/19/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,049.
A victim of Theft – From a Building on Lyons Road on 01/19/2024. The total estimated loss was $4,300.
A victim of Theft – From a Building at Duffy’s Sports Grill on W Hillsboro Blvd on 01/21/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,000.
A victim of Theft From a Motor Vehicle (multiple) at La Fitness on Lyons Road on 01/20/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,000. Two victims and two vehicles were reported.
Home Depot was a Theft – Retail/Shoplifting victim on N State Road 7 on 01/17/2024. The total estimated loss was $381.

A victim of Vehicle Theft – Auto on Cocoplum Circle in Elliot at Cocoplum on 01/17/2024.
Trespass
A victim of Trespass – Other on Carambola Cir S on 01/17/2024. An unknown person entered the residence through the front door using the house key left under the front doormat. No items were missing from the home, and the subject left within 2 min of entering the residence. The subject locked the residence and placed the key back under the mat.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud – Use Of Credit Card on 01/17/2024. The total estimated loss was $5,000.
Arrests
Oliveiravilaca, Nicio, 30, was arrested on a Petit Theft – 2 Degree – 1 Offense charge at 4550 N State Road 7 on 01/17/2024.
Noel, Rosemene, 67, was arrested on a charge of Petit Theft 1 Degree Property $100 To < $750 at 5571 W Hillsboro Blvd on 01/17/2024.
Lindsay, Damani, Jamaal, 27, was arrested on a Driving While License Suspended Habitual charge at 5000 Lyons Road on 01/17/2024.
