A woman was arrested after allegedly pointing a loaded firearm at another woman during a heated altercation in a Coconut Creek apartment complex parking lot.
According to Coconut Creek Police Department records, Jaquia Ekua Ansah, 30, of Miami, was arrested on July 14 within an apartment complex located near the 4100 block of West Atlantic Boulevard after a victim told officers Ansah threatened to shoot her over a parking dispute.
The report indicated the victim claimed she was pulling into the complex when a vehicle allegedly driven by Ansah began honking at her. After parking, the victim said Ansah followed her, exited her vehicle, and began shouting, challenging her to a fight.
When the victim asked Ansah to “please go home,” Ansah allegedly threw a cup of red liquid at the victim’s vehicle before getting a firearm from her own car and pointing it directly at the victim and saying, “I’m going to shoot your ass.”
A witness confirmed the sequence of events, saying she observed Ansah yelling and then pointing a firearm at the victim from her window. Officers later recovered a 9mm pistol loaded with one round in the chamber and six in the magazine from Ansah’s purse.
Coconut Creek officers located Ansah, who approached them voluntarily, stating that she needed to speak with them.
Ansah was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. She was later released after posting $1,500 bond.
