High school football in Coconut Creek continued with three teams competing in their third game.
Coconut Creek High School remained undefeated to start the year following a 28-16 win over Western High School. The Cougars previously beat Miramar and Piper High School and will play Deerfield Beach High School in their next game on Friday, September 12, at 7 p.m. The Bucks are 1-1 this year after being as this will be the first matchup between these teams since 2022, a 42-0 win for Coconut Creek.
The Monarch High School football team fell to 1-2 this year, falling to the number two-ranked team in New Jersey, Don Bosco Prep, 38-21
The Knights are now 1-2 this year, with their win coming against Deerfield Beach High School earlier this year. Monarch will play Seminole High School in its next game on Friday, September 12, at 7 p.m. The Seminoles are 2-1 this year and have won two straight after being shut out against Creekside High School in their first game, and won 30-26 in the lone meeting a season ago.
North Broward Prep won its second straight game on Thursday night, defeating Pembroke Pines Charter 28-12. Braxton Bylow had a pair of receiving touchdowns, including a 61-yard score on a pass from Ralph Diaz. Christian Silverman also had blocked two punts for touchdowns. The Eagles also closed the game out with a defensive stand in the red zone, with Josh Sylvain forcing a fumble.
Tanner Gillman recovered the fumble and pitched it to Peter McLaughlin, who returned it to the opposition’s 35-yard line. NBP would then go into victory formation to improve to 2-1 this year. Next, they will play American Heritage High School on Friday, September 12, at 6 p.m. The Stallions are 3-0 this year following wins against Coral Springs Charter, Somerset Prep, and Florida Christian High School, while also winning 42-7 in their matchup with NBP last year.
