It was not exactly home on the range last Friday for one community.
Parkland Bay residents heard gunshots on May 22 around 7:15 p.m. after several individuals used the adjacent wooded area as target practice.
According to Parkland District Captain Mulligan, four individuals were arrested on May 22 after the incident and charged with discharging a firearm in public.
For a community scarred by gun violence, the use of firearms in such a populated area is unsettling.
Resident Craig Levine observed trees marked by hundreds of bullet holes and spray-painted stick figures.
“The shooters were firing from west to east into Parkland Bay. It’s unbelievable,” he exclaimed. “Residents were out for an evening bike ride and heard shots and bullets overhead, so they took cover behind a huge construction dump truck.”
