North Broward Prep officially has two State Champions committing to play college baseball.
Gian De Castro is set to play at the University of Memphis.
“It feels great to commit to a school, especially one of this stature,” De Castro. “I have a lot of confidence that I made the right decision, and I’m excited for the future of Memphis Baseball.”
De Castro grew up playing on the Weston Hawks before moving to the Florida Hurricanes. His team ranked number one in the country for three years in a row, and he is currently playing with Gold Culture 17u and Chi-Town Cream 18U, along with the varsity team at NBP.
De Castro has played for two years with NBP and has won back-to-back State Championships. He is a lifetime .290 hitter with two home runs and 35 RBIs. He was also selected as a Perfect Game Preseason All-Prospect Underclassmen Team.
After official visits to multiple schools, De Castro knew Memphis would be his pick. He quickly built a great relationship with Head Coach Kerrick Jackson and the entire coaching staff.
“Coach Jackson knows that it’s bigger than just baseball and understands what it takes to not only win on the baseball field but also what it takes to succeed in life,” De Castro added. “Not to mention it’s a beautiful city with passionate fans.”
While De Castro knows the incredible opportunity he has in front of him, his main focus is trying to win another State Championship. He focuses on staying consistent for the entire season and keeping his approach in the batter’s box the same.
When De Castro goes to college, he will join a Memphis team that competes in the American Conference and won 26 games a season ago.

Dylan Radtke is set to attend Bucknell University in Pennsylvania.
“It feels really good to commit because you know you’ll be able to play at the next level, and you know that all the work you put in is worth it,” Radtke said.
Radtke began playing little league in Deerfield and Pompano Beach. He also competed in travel against the Canyons and Elite Squad for one year. This past season on varsity, Radtke won a pair of games and had a save. He has made 18 appearances and has struck out 40 hitters.
When deciding on a college, Radtke picked Bucknell due to their academics and the opportunity to play collegiately with a strong team that went 22-26 last year. Despite it being a big change, the senior is excited about the future.
