Coconut Creek had a tremendous fall sports season, highlighted by Samari Reed from the Monarch High School football team.
He was picked as Defensive Player of the Year after registering three interceptions, three fumble recoveries, 10 passes defended, and 25 total tackles. Offensively, Reed had 18 touchdowns, 16 two-point conversions, a kick return for a touchdown, pick-six, and 1,384 all-purpose yards to lead Monarch to their third straight District Championship and a 7-4 record.
Bryan Auguste was named to the first team and is a University of Kentucky signee. He had 83 pancake blocks this year and 135 in his career. Antwaun Parnham and Romando Johnson were each named to the Second Team. Parnham will be attending Tulane University, while Johnson is set to play at West Virginia University. Jabari Brady, Jeremy Daniels, William Gideon, Johnson, Florentino Lopez, Bre’lan Mareus, and Mekhi Miller were all Honorable Mentions.
Nimari Brantley was on the First Team and had 51 career tackles, with 18 coming for a loss. The Florida Atlantic signee was selected as a Rising Stars All-South Florida Team member and Dade vs Broward All-Star Game. Javion Francois, Terrance Johnson, Jordan Thompson, and TJ Wilcox were all Honorable Mentions.
After leading the Eagles to a District Championship, Yasmin Tonon was chosen to be on the First Team. She had 260 kills, 227 digs, and 33 aces, along with being an AVCA Phenom Watch List selection. Eden Harris, Emma Luehrs, and Jayda Palumbo were Honorable Mentions.
After competing at the State Championship, the cross country and boys golf teams had two Second Team Selections with Willis Gillis and Max Gressele. Alexander Lavan, Jake Messana, Cooper Roth, Ava Koury, Jesera Mendez, Tingting Zhuang, Jonah Cohen, Xavier Cocking, Hunter Gilman, Anthony Mestre, Alex Paven, and Ethan Phillips were all Honorable Mentions for their respective sport.
